The board sets the policies and programs of the Chamber. They, in turn, select a paid executive officer that organizes and executes the programs of the Chamber. Who Pays?The Chamber is financed primarily through "fair share" investments of those businesses, professionals, individuals, churches and organizations interested in improving the quality of life for community residents. These are the people who make up the membership. Why Join the Chamber?The Clovis/Curry County Chamber needs you! And, you need to be a part of the organization that is busy being a full-time representative on matters that make it possible for business to survive and grow. The chamber promotes the businesses, services and products of its membership. It unceasingly attempts to create a healthy environment for economic development in order to diversify our economy and bring about orderly growth of the area. Every member can be as involved as individual time allows. What are we?The chamber is a voluntary organization of the business and professional community uniting to improve the economy and build a better community. The overall objective is to ensure progressive and orderly economic development, in order to make the community a better place in which to live and work. The strength of the chamber is in its membership. The chamber organization enables the membership to accomplish collectively what no one could do individually. What do we do?The variety and scope of chamber activities is limited only by its membership. What the chamber does depends on the needs of the community and desire/ability of the membership to carry out the activities. The chamber has traditionally been the information agency of the area for both residents and visitors. The chamber represents and promotes the area's economy and encourages business and industrial investments in order to broaden the tax base and provide employment. The chamber represents the community's "front door" to business prospects and newcomers. It is also involved in education, human relations, environmental issues, as well as cultural and governmental concerns. The Clovis/Curry County Chamber is a viable force seeking solutions to the area's economic and social problems. |
