Clovis’ Draggin’ Main Music Festival Committee Announces Details for 2020 Event in Response to COVID-19

(Clovis, New Mexico) Friday, April 3, 2020—Clovis’ Draggin’ Main Music Festival (DMMF) Committee – a committee within the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce – today announced new details about the 2020 event.

“For more than six months, the DMMF committee has been working very hard to plan and improve the 2020 event,” explained Gene Porter, a DMMF Committee member. “As you can imagine, we have had to face an unprecedented world pandemic. The health and financial impact that this pandemic will have on our community, country and the world remains to be seen and we have had to make some of the toughest decisions ever as a committee.”

The committee’s most difficult decision was to postpone until next year the DMMF traditional concerts – namely, Thursday night’s Faith & Family Night with headliner 7eventh Time Down and Friday’s Rock concert featuring 38 Special. However, plans for a full week of the Draggin’ Main portion of the event are still on track for June 15-20 2020, including the Tour of Clovis’ Classic Restaurants, Gearhead Gathering, and the main event: the Draggin’ Main Music Festival Main Street Cruise.

This year’s event will also welcome the Harley Owners Group, who will have their regional cookout during the event. Additionally, in spite of the financial blows to many local businesses, many event sponsors have found ways to give to the incredible event, as well as approve the use of their previous donations for the postponed concerts in 2021.

“We, as a committee, hold out great hope that this world setback will end before long and we wholeheartedly believe our community needs this event and the joy it brings to so many,” Gene continued. “So polish your rides, grab your friends and family, and let’s show the world that we will not let anything keep Clovis down!”
