Roy Walker Community Center – This recreation center has two full-sized gymnasiums used for youth, men, women and mixed league play in volleyball and basketball. It also has a fully equipped weight room, multipurpose room and a boxing gym. Info: 316 W. Second St.

Goodwin Lake Walking Trail – More than 40 acres of land makes this the perfect place to escape with a walk, run or cycle along a 1 1/-mile paved trail. Info: Located at 3201 N. Prince St.

Ned Houk Park – With 370 developed acres out of 3,200, this park offers basketball courts, ball fields, an archery range, motor sports race track, trails for ATVs and horses, a disc golf course and a model airplane flying area. There are three lakes and picnic areas with playground equipment and restroom facilities, as well. Check out the Old Homestead Museum and Pappy Thornton Farm Museum out at Ned Houk. Hillcrest Park – Home to a number of outdoor activities for adults and children alike, this 157-acre outdoor area provides lighted playing fields for baseball, youth football and softball, as well as unlit playing areas for soccer, tennis, volleyball and basketball.

Dog Park at Hillcrest – Take Fido for a walk around Hillcrest Park, or snag a bench at the city’s dog park, with two separate areas for large and small breeds with plenty of shade and water. Info: Hillcrest Park, Sycamore and 14th streets

Greene Acres Park – Stocked with fish for bank fishing, this 24-acre park has a lighted tennis court, trails for walking or running, restrooms, basketball court, playground, skate park and several picnic tables. Info: Located at 21st and Main streets

Clovis Aquatic Center – Indoor swimming pool with a well center and aerobics room for all to enjoy, plus scuba lessons, swimming lessons and water exercise programs. Info: 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1700 E. Seventh St., (575) 762-4519

Hillcrest Splash Park – Get your feet wet – or your entire body, rather – at this outdoor splash park with 17 water features, open from May to September. Info: $1 per person, 10th and Sycamore streets, (575) 762-4519

Clovis Civic Center Natural light fills the Clovis Civic Center’s 30,000-squarefoot complex, lending a feeling of fresh air to events of every type. The space features the elegant Enchantment Ballroom, one of the spacious meeting rooms, or the picturesque Plateau Plaza and delivers a first class facility resplendent with the latest technology for every attendee. In addition, the space features a state-of-the-art, full-service kitchen. You can pick a selection from the impressive menu or personally meet with the Chef to tailor a specific meal. Curry County Events Center The Curry County Events Center operates at the Curry County Fairgrounds, and is ideal for rodeos, livestock sales, dog shows, concerts, circuses, trade shows, conventions, concerts, sporting events and a vast array of other special events. The 96,116-square-foot, climate-controlled indoor arena can fully extend the limits of space and creativity. It has tiered spectator seating for approximately 3,300 people (including 294 premium seats) and availability for an additional 3,200 seats on the arena floor and is an ideal event venue. Spectra, a private facility management company, operates both the Civic Center and the Curry County Events Center. The company, based in Philadelphia, is the fastest- growing firm in the public assembly facility management field with more than 45 facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
